At NDCL, student leadership is at the heart of Campus Ministry. We believe the best way to live our mission—to empower leaders to transform the world as Jesus did, by living the truth in love—is by giving students real opportunities to lead in faith. Whether guiding retreats, serving at Mass, or launching service initiatives, our student leaders model what it means to live as disciples of Christ.
Retreat Leaders
Retreats are a cornerstone of faith life at NDCL, and our juniors and seniors play a vital role in leading their peers:
- Freshman COMMUNITY Retreat Leaders Juniors and seniors serving as CPE leaders welcome freshmen into the Lion family by leading activities, sharing personal faith stories, and modeling how to build a community rooted in love and respect.
- Kairos Retreat Team Members After experiencing Kairos, juniors and seniors may apply to lead future retreats during their senior year. Leaders commit to the Christian Code of Conduct, attend training in group dynamics and discussion leadership, and dedicate themselves to being Christ-like role models. Their witness helps classmates deepen their relationship with God, themselves, and one another.
Liturgical Ministers
Students live the truth in love through active participation in school liturgies, using their gifts to lead the community in prayer as:
- Altar Servers
- Lectors
- Music Ministers
- Gift Bearers
- Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (for confirmed juniors and seniors)
Through these ministries, students grow as spiritual leaders, helping the NDCL community celebrate and encounter Christ more fully.
Service Leaders
Student leaders extend NDCL’s mission beyond campus by designing and leading service projects that respond to real needs in the community. With the support of Campus Ministry, students bring their passions to life and inspire others to serve.
Recent Student-Led Initiatives Have Included:
- Advent Giving Tree
- Campus Cares Canned Food Drive
- Boxes of Hope
- Paws for Prayer
- Candy for a Cause (supporting schools in Uganda)
- Clothing the Cold
- Lenten Project
- Duck Tape Bracelets for Anti-Human Trafficking Awareness
- Blanket Making for the Homeless
At NDCL, student leadership in Campus Ministry isn’t just an opportunity—it’s a calling. Our students step up to lead, serve, and inspire, carrying forward Christ’s mission and shaping a community that truly lives the truth in love.
